Emily's Biography

Hi, I’m Emily. I’m a free spirit blessed with many talents I use to make a difference in my community. I believe in honesty/integrity, generosity and authenticity. At home, I’m a dedicated wife, mother of two and licensed childcare provider at our home daycare/preschool. On weekends, I enjoy writing, face painting and performing live music for events including birthdays, fundraisers, wedding and ceremonies. My playful spirit has really inspired my heart for teaching, songwriting and connecting with my listeners.

I was a travelling musician, ESL teacher and backpacker for over 6 years immersing myself in several different cultures. World travel not only greatly opened my mind but expanded my heart beyond measure. I studied mandarin, taught English and performed in a band in China and from there was able to explore Japan, India, Egypt, the Philippines, Tibet, Thailand and even Algers, North Africa. Through these dynamic cultural experiences, I greatly developed my appreciation and compassion for other points of view, my open heart and my intuition/inner guidance. Busking with my guitar through these countries helped me build incredible stage presence, confidence in my talent and ability to connect with my listeners. Upon returning home from my travels, I met the man of my dreams (a hilarious mountain climber) and together we’ve started a family on Vancouver Island and purchased our first home in beautiful Campbell River, BC. In 2015, we opened as a licensed in-home daycare and music studio. Today, I still love to share the magic of music and movement with our preschool kids in exciting musical adventures that help children learn through play to fully prepare them for early music lessons, school and for life! In my spare time, I write and record original songs and play popular songs on guitar and piano. I am also a detailed face painter so enjoy bringing both my music and art skills to events in my community. Nothing makes me happier than spreading joy and light through my creativity. I am also a very conscious parent to our two beautiful children and absolutely love to teach them lessons through song. My first children’s book and audio track is coming soon called, “Keep Your Hands To Yourself!” Please follow me on Facebook and Instagram to hear more of my favorite songs recorded live, see my face painting work and hear about my upcoming original albums for all-ages!
